Pristimantis frogs of the Eastern Andes

This compilation of paintings depicts an array of frog species belonging to the genus Pristimantis. Inhabiting the Eastern slopes of Peru, many of the species in this genus undergo direct development, allowing the young to bypass the tadpole stage and develop into tiny frogs while still in the eggs.
